Express Entry

Express Entry

Express Entry is a completely electronic process used by Canadian government to manage applications for skilled and qualified workers involving the Canadian federal government, provincial governments and Canadian employers. Express Entry is much more than just an immigration program, it’s more like a system used by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada), to choose candidates eligible for immigration to Canada.

It helps managing applications for Canadian permanent residence through various immigration programs, which are designed for the immigration of skilled and qualified workers in Canada and helps to facilitate people socially and economically. EE is not like any other online immigration form or application, it helps you serve the best for your needs and is the most efficient system with almost 80% applications processed in less than 6 months.

Before EE the original 'first come, first served" option was opted, but with the coming of EE the Canadian government are able to help individuals avoid arbitrary or random selections. Thus, helping them to reduce people who fail to get jobs as with the help of EE now immigrants are able to get better fitting jobs in the present vacancies.

The Basic Process and Perfecting Your Profile

The Basic Express Entry Process firstly involves determining whether or not an individual is eligible. It involves the process of filling out the Free Canadian Visa assessment which compares all your qualifications and helps you with the program you desire to pursue. In the next step, you are supposed to fill out the desired program and occupation according to your online profile for the Canadian Government. An individual is supposed to make his/her online profile presentable which is very important as there are a total of 1200 points under the CRS (comprehensive Ranking System) program. Thus to improve your ranking and to create a perfect profile you should have a good command over English/French. You can also compare your CRS score if you have a spouse or common-law partner. Sometimes an applicant’s CRS score may, in fact, be lower than that of their accompanying partner. In such a case, it is preferable for spouse or partner to be the principal applicant. Your Education level and job experience also matters a lot, everyone in the Express Entry pool should be proactively preparing for an ITA or provincial nomination. Candidates in EE are given a score out of 1200 under the CRS. This score is very important as it is used to rank every candidate immigrating to Canada according to their economic and social well being. ITA (invitation to apply) is then received after getting a score under this CRS system.

Express Entry Profile

Candidates need to create a profile online through Express Entry, which involves a few simple steps and requirements. Candidates are chosen and preferred on the basis of ranking system and candidates meeting all the above requirements get selected in the Express Entry pool.

They will be judged on the basis of:

  • Age
  • Language skills
  • Academic/educational qualification and exposure
  • Canadian work experience
  • Factors including provincial/territorial trade certificate

Thus, EE is an online immigration application system and it helps people to submit a profile and be considered as a skilled immigrant. Candidates with the highest rankings are invited to apply for PR. Selected candidates get a total of 60 days of time to submit their application. Once the candidate has applied the PR application will processed and will take around 6 months for its completion.

EE also includes FSW, CEC, FSTP, and all Federal skills Migration Initiatives.

There are different categories through which the immigrants can apply such as:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
